Silver is a softer material than platinum or gold, and because of the wide range of materials available, it is possible to engrave cats by hand.
In the photo, it is not clear because it is struck on a scrap piece of wood, but the actual ring, pendant, or bangle will be polished, so it can be struck a little more clearly.
